Field Notes:
It was thrilling to use my Wingspan Optics binoculars for first time. I have never seen anything so sharp and in focus. I was easily a couple hundred feet away from the birds and was able to see them without disturbing their behavior.
Tried to sketch a little. It will take some real practice. Mainly, I was trying to capture the eye and the thin ring around the black.
Came home to an amazing gift from CL. She must have read my mind because she had gone to the art store and bought me a tin of 12 Derwent water color pencils and a watercolor sketch pad. I am so excited to start practicing.
